The leopard is the most smart and strongest climber of the big cats and is capable killing an animal larger than it selves. It is a loner, and male and female are usually only together to mate.
The leopard hunts mostly at night, and uses the day to hide in the bushes or on a tree branch. Its speediness makes it an efficient hunter, and its prey is both small and bigger antelopes, baboons, monkeys and birds.
Both the lion and the hyena will take the leopards prey if they can get away with it, that is why the leopard brings it prey up into the trees, even though the prey can weigh more than it selves. In the trees the leopard can usually feast uninterrupted.
The leopard changes territory all the time, usually the leopard stays no longer than 2-3 days in a territory. A leopard can also be black, better known as a panther.
