World of Safari

Aberdare, Mount Kenya

Aberdare National Park makes up 767 square kilometers of the Aberdare highlands. The great heights and the mountain peak Lesatimas with its 3.999 meters offers this ecosystem with new and exiting experiences. The vigorous hillside has plants and trees that remind you of the rainforest. Mount Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya and the second highest in Africa, with its 5.199 meters at the highest peak. Mount Kenya is an old volcano.

Wildlife:

Elephants, buffalos, rhinos, leopards, and a few lions are amongst the animals that you can experience with a little luck in the park on a game drive or from the lodge balcony.

Travel:

Aberdare National Park is only three hours drive from Nairobi.

Lodges and camps:

Aberdare offers two lodges, The Ark, and the Treetop Lodge. There is a unique story associated with the place. Queen Elizabeth of England stayed at the Treetop Lodge when her father passed a way. Near by are several other lodges. One or two nights stay is appropriate. The great view from the lodges includes the peak of Mount Kenya.
